# Data regions

Minikai runs in more than one data region, and a workspace belongs to exactly one of them. The content in a workspace is
held and processed in its own region, so the base URL you call is the one that matches your workspace rather than
whichever you find first.

## Base URLs

| Data region | API base URL |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------ |
| Australia | `https://api.minikai.com/minikai-public` |
| United Kingdom | `https://api.minikai.co.uk/minikai-public` |

Where a guide shows a full request, it shows one per region so you can copy the one you need. Elsewhere the examples use
`$MINIKAI_BASE_URL`, which you set to the row above that matches your workspace. In the [API Reference](/api-reference),
pick your region from the server selector before you send a test request.

## Finding your region

Your workspace's data region is shown in the Minikai app under **Settings → Workspace details**. An API key is scoped to
a single workspace, so if you administer workspaces in both regions, each one has its own keys and its own base URL.

## The rest of Minikai

The app and the website follow the same split, so a link that matches your region saves a redirect.

| Data region | App | Talk to us |
| -------------- | --------------------------- | ------------------------------- |
| Australia | `https://minikai.com/app` | `https://minikai.com/contact` |
| United Kingdom | `https://minikai.co.uk/app` | `https://minikai.co.uk/contact` |
